We all got up early and Michael dropped Putu, Peta, Clare
and I off at the beach where we were met by Dewa who drove us into town.
We dropped off all our rubbish and then filled Peta’s ten
fuel drums and then drove back to Gantheaume Point where we were met by Michael
in the dingy. I refueled Sirocco and then put the rest of the fuel into
Selkie.
Michael then took us back to the beach and we repeated the
same exercise to refuel Peta’s boat Selkie. After refueling was complete,
Michael and Liz then joined us as they had to purchase two new batteries for
their boat.
As the tide goes out
so far in Broome and there is no boat ramp or recreational jetty, many of the boats
have retractable hydraulic motorised wheels and they can simply drive up the
beach and onto the trailer or down the beach and into the water.
Once their batteries were purchased, we split up for lunch
and food shopping and then we met again to take Michael and Liz back out to Gantheaume
Point where we dropped them off as well as all the food shopping and batteries.
Putu, Peta and I then went back into town to purchase
alcohol and any other items we still required. Once shopping was complete, we
all headed back to Gantheaume Point where we were once again met by Michael
with the dingies so we could ferry all our goodies back to each boat.
Putu took Dewa’s car back into town and had to wait until he
could get away from work late that evening to drop her off back at Gantheaume
Point in the dark where I could pick her up in the dingy.
I had a few drinks with Michael and Liz on Cosmic Drift while waiting for
Putu.
It was a long day but we managed to complete all our
resupply needs thanks to Dewa’s generosity and the team effort. We could not
have done it individually on our own.
This evening Garry on Playground arrived at the anchorage.
